Majors and Crosses

Majors

Majors are any currency pair that contain the US Dollar (USD), for example:

EUR/USD

GBP/USD

AUD/USD

ETC

The position of the USD doesn’t matter. Due to socially accepted naming conventions the order of the currencies matters.

USD/JPY

USD/CHF

USD/CAD

ETC

Crosses

In short, a-cross is any currency pair that doesn’t contain the USD. Seeing that there are over 180 currencies I won’t bore you by listing them all. Some examples of crosses are:

EUR/GBP

GBP/JYP

AUB/CAD

ETC
